Sewing Adventure - Knits!

So, first off, I was trying to finish my amigurumi day 3 in time, but it isn't going to happen... so instead I thought I would post some pictures of a sewing project I finished a few days ago.

After sewing this, I have decided to never sew with knits again though. At least not until I get a serger or I am a much better sewer, because this was extremely frustrating. But, a learning experience so I guess that was good.

Anyway, here are my pictures. Enjoy!

My eyes were closed but this is a good picture of the shirt:

No, I do not have a purple hamburger tattoo on my arm, it is a water spot on the lens of the camera.

Amigurumi Octopus

I just heard about this farmer's market in town and I am hoping to attend and sell some of my amigurumi animals, so I am hoping to just be posting a ton of these guys in the next week or so! He is super cute. Hopefully he will sell!

Cute little purse!

I had left over wool yarn from a purse that is still not quite completed, (I have to sew another strap on it..), and decided to make this tiny little purse, experimenting with colorwork and felting. It turned out pretty cute, its the perfect size for a cell phone and a few necessities, or in my case, I made it so it would perfectly house a small tablet that Chris and I are hoping someday to buy, lol! Anyway, here are the pictures!

The strap didn't felt the way I wanted to, in fact, it got longer... but it turned out ok with twisting them together.

1 (maybe 2) hour skirt!

So I made this skirt this afternoon from left-over material from the purple and yellow dresses. I am really pleased with how it came out! Its very simple and very cute! Again, pictures to come of it being worn soon :)

Ok, I officially have pictures of it being worn!! Ok so I cut out my face because I'm squinting like a crazy person because it is so bright out!

Happy Belated Father's Day!

And Christmas too! I made this hat for my dad for father's day. For some reason, he loves hats with ear flaps :P

I found a lot of patterns online for these hats, but none of them were very good, I used this pattern:, but the picture shows a crochet version, which is MUCH more girly, and I changed a few other things as well.

Instead of working 8 rows of garter stitch, I only worked 4

For the ear flaps, it tells you to pick up 15 stitches, I picked up 20.

So anyway, I have some lovely photos to post:

One of Chris wearing it with quite the beautiful expression on his face:

And the back/side:

Like I said, many more pictures/posts to come in the next few days, so keep looking!

First post in Forever! - Yellow Sewn Dress

So wow, I have been lazy with the posting... I've actually completed several projects, but just haven't taken the pictures :-\.... I am a horrible blogger! Anyway, after buying the fabric for this dress, I realized that these were my wedding colors if I had gotten married in the summer! So all you bridesmaids, this could have been your dress! (but of course, it would have been professionally made, so much better :) )

I think for my second attempt at a dress I am happy with the result. It is better than my last dress, but I messed up the back a little.... And it doesn't fit PERFECTLY, but, still good!

I also don't have pictures of it on yet, but I'll get some!

So here are the pictures:

You can see that the midriff doesn't line up perfectly, I shortened the one side too much :(

Well, I have PLENTY of things I need to put pictures up of soon, so keep watch in the next couple days!

Graduation Owl

This is the owl I made for my very good friend Evey's graduation. It looks a lot like the others... I know! It's the same pattern but with a graduation cap! And he is part blue because Evelynne went to UofM! Go Blue!
