Crochet Pullover Sweater

So I just finished my third sweater with this yarn (4th try :) ) and FINALLY got something worth keeping! I'm posting the pictures of just the sweater below. I realize it may look a little extra shapely, but it looks much better on!


Here are the pictures of what it looks like worn:

I changed the pattern quite a bit from the original. I used worsted weight yarn (4) instead of 3 ply. I also used a G crochet hook instead of H. Here is the link to the original pattern:

Below I will post my alterations for this version:

Fsc 31. Turn Foundation so that sc edge is on top and work Row 1 across the sc edge.
Row 1 (WS): Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1 here and throughout), dc in first sc, (ch 1, dc in same sc) 4 times (Inc V-st made), place marker (pm) in center ch-1 sp of Inc V-st for front raglan armhole, sk next 2 sc, V-st in next sc, sk next 2 sc, Inc V-st in next sc, pm in center ch-1 sp of Inc V-st for back raglan armhole, (sk next 2 sc, V-st in next sc) 5 times, sk next 2 sc, Inc V-st in next Note: Move markers up to ch-1 sp as each row is worked.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp (Half- Shell made), ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, *Shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp; rep from * across to turning ch-sp, 3 dc in turning ch-sp (Half-Shell made) 
Row 3: Ch 4, turn, dc in first dc (V-st made), V-st in each ch-1 sp across, V-st in top of turning ch.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, *sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * across to last 2 ch-1 sps, sk next ch-1 sp, 3 dc in ch-sp
Row 5 (Raglan Increase): Ch 4, turn, dc in first dc, *V-st in each ch-1 sp to next marker, Inc V-st in marked ch-1 sp; rep from * 3 more times, V-st in each ch-1 sp across, V-st in top of turning ch

Join at Front Neck and Divide for Armholes
Rnd 14 (RS):
 Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first ch-1 sp, ch 1, *(Shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp) to marker, Shell in marked ch-1 sp, Fsc Increase 4 for underarm foundation, sk until next marked V-stitch, Shell in next marked ch-1 sp, sk next ch-1 sp; rep from * once more, Shell in next ch-1 sp, (sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1) to turning ch-sp, 3 dc in turning ch-sp; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3.
Fasten off.
With WS facing, join yarn at 2nd marker from center of front (back of right sleeve), to beg working across back.
Rnd 15: Ch 3, turn, *V-st in each ch-1 sp to underarm Fsc Increase, V-st in next sc, (sk next 2 sc, V-st in next sc) 1 time*, V-st in each ch-1 sp across front to join at center front, V-st in sp between Half-Shells of neck join; rep from * to *, dc in same sp as turning ch, sc in top of turning ch to complete last V-st 






Body
Rnd 1:
 Ch 3, turn, dc in same sp as turning ch, *ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in next ch-1 space; rep from * across to last ch-sp, ch 1, sk last ch-1 sp, 2 dc in same sp as turning ch, sc in top of turning ch to complete last Shell
Rnd 2: Ch 3, turn, *V-st in next ch-1 sp between Shells, V-st in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across until you reach the middle of the back. V-st in 3 ch-1 spaces from the middle, sk next ch-1 sp, V-st in next 3 ch-1 spaces, sk next ch-1 sp, V-st in each ch-1 space to last ch-sp between Shells, V-st in last ch-1 sp between Shells, dc in same ch-sp as turning ch, sc in top of turning ch to complete last V-st

Rnd 3: repeat rnd 1
Rnd 4: Ch 3, turn, *V-st in next ch-1 sp between Shells, V-st in next ch-1 sp; rep from * across until you reach the middle of the back. With RS facing, join yarn with sl st in dc row edge just after underarm Fsc, to work across skipped V-sts of armhole.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3, dc in same row edge, ch 1, (sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in next ch-1 sp, ch 1) around, sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in row edge of Shell just before underarm Fsc, ch 1, (sk next 3 ch of underarm Fsc, Shell in next ch, ch 1, sk rem 3 ch of underarm Fsc) 1 time(s), 2 dc in same row edge as turning ch, sc in top of turning ch to complete last Shell
Rnd 2: Ch 3, turn, V-st in each ch-1 sp around, dc in same ch-sp as turning ch, sc in top of turning ch to complete last V-st
Rnd 3: Ch 3, turn, dc in same sp as turning ch, *ch 1, sk next ch-1 sp, Shell in next ch-1 space; rep from * around to last 2 V-sts. Shell in-between v-sts.
Rnds 4-12: Rep Rnds 2 and 4 three more times, adjusting last part of rnd 3 to just complete circle around. then rep Rnd 2 once more.
Rnd 13: Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), turn, hdc in last dc of first V-st, FPDC in each dc of next V-st, *(hdc in next dc, hdc in ch-1 sp, hdc in next dc), FPDC in next 2 dc; rep from *  around, hdc in same sp as turning ch, sl st in top of turning ch
Rnd 14: Ch 2, turn, sk first hdc, hdc in next hdc, *BPDC around each of next 2 dc, hdc in next 3 hdc; rep from * to last 3 sts, BPDC around next 2 dc, hdc in last hdc; join with sl st in top of turning ch.
Rnd 15: Ch 2, turn, sk first hdc, hdc in next hdc, *FPDC around each of next 2 dc, hdc in next 3 hdc; rep from * to last 3 sts, FPDC around each of next 2 dc, hdc in last hdc; join with sl st in top of turning ch.
Rnds 16-21: Rep Rnds 12 and 13 twice. Fasten off.

Stitch explanations:
BPDC (back post double crochet) Yo, insert hook from back to front then to back, around post of st, draw up a loop, (yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Skip the st in front of the BPDC. FPDC (front post double crochet) Yo, insert hook from front to back then to front, around post of st, draw up a loop, (yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice. Skip the st behind the FPDC.
Fsc (foundation single crochet) Start with a slip knot, ch 2, insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, draw up a loop (base ch), yo, draw through 1 loop, yo and draw through 2 loops (1 sc with base ch at bottom). Work next st under loops of the base ch. *Insert hook under 2 loops at bottom of the previous st, draw up a loop, yo and draw through 1 loop, yo and draw through 2 loops; rep from * for length of foundation.
Fsc Increase (foundation single crochet increase) Insert hook under front 2 loops of st just made, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 1 loop on hook, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook, rep as for Fsc for length of increase.
Inc V-st (Inc V-stitch) Dc in indicated st or ch-sp, (ch 1, dc in same st or ch-sp) 5 times.
rev sc (reverse single crochet) Single crochet worked from left to right. Insert hook into next stitch to the right (left), under loop on hook, and draw up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all loops on hook.
Note: Work rev sc from right to left if you are a left handed crocheter.
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
Shell (Shell stitch) (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc) in indicated st or ch-sp. Note: For Half-Shell work 3 dc in same st or ch-sp.
V-st (V-stitch) (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st or ch-sp.
